Engaging with Research
Engaging the public with research is crucial to the greenhouse gas programme. We want to enter into dialogue about our work with our local communities and with wider society, to enrich our own perspectives, and to raise awareness and increase understanding of the urgent issues we are tackling.
Public Engagement Activities
Our Public Engagement programme incorporates:
Science festivals
Seminars and lectures
Bespoke workshops and projects for community groups
Media

NetZeroPlus@COP26
In November 2021, members of the NetZeroPlus team hosted an event at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26).
Professor Richard Betts and Professor Ian Bateman from the NetZeroPlus team were joined by Dr Gwawr Jones (Joint Nature Conservation Committee, JNCC) and Professor Alice Larkin (University of Manchester) for a workshop seeking to clarify the science, politics and economics of the climate emergency.
A recording of the event ‘When Science Meets Economics: The Right Tree in the Right Place for NetZeroPlus’ is available to view.
