We welcome our new colleague Matthew Wiecek who will be working with Dr Naomi Gatis and the rest of our exert ecologists and experimental scientists site team on the NetZeroPlus project.
Matthew works for the Centre for Resilience in Environment, Water and Waste as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. He serves on several projects as a specialist in the use of machine learning to analyse satellite images of the environment. His previous experience includes a PhD in Geography on the use of machine learning to map deforestation in South America, a project to use satellite images in archaeological research in the Middle East, and flood risk mapping in Canada.
We are looking forward to working with Matthew over the coming months and value the knowledge he brings to the project.
